Even without nukes on the table, Russia and China even combined probably couldn’t invade the US mainland. Maybe at best launch bombing runs like the Americans did to Japan during ww2. They would have to win an economic war not a militarily one.

I disagree about Russia and China not being able to invade the US. I think we’re a bit disillusioned bcuz the last time there was a sustained war attack on the US mainland was 1812. We don’t know what a modern day attack would look like.

There’s a reason that’s the last time a major part of a foreign war was fought on US territory. Two large oceans and a massive navy. There was genuine fears in ww2 that Japan would invade (they did invade an island in Alaska which wasn’t a state yet) after they were able to wipe out much of the pacific fleet but even then Japan couldn’tdidn’t think would be worth it
Any fighting would be have to be internal (or from secret invaders working with foreign governments)

Because they already had a frontlines established where they were fighting a war against other key players in WWII. The point of the mainland attack was to completely destroy the American fleet and prevent them from joining in a meaningful way in the first place. They failed partially from luck and partially from bad intel

Since then USA has been fighting proxy wars. Haven’t been in a major war in the Cold War and aside from that doing various stuff in the Middle East. There hasn’t been a legit threat of attack to the mainland or a war where a threat would occur
China still has too much to lose right now getting sanction like Iran 🇮🇷, Russia 🇷🇺, and North Korea. Once China dumped atleast 70% of its US treasuries there's nothing holding China back at that point

Iran doesn’t want war. I think they would be satisfied by attacking bases here and there. Or one off attacks on the mainland. If there is war then it would be consolidated in their country and they would endure a lot of destruction with a low likelihood of winning
