Do a lot of shopping around for home options, don't just settle, as prices can vary as the housing market is starting to even out, although there are LL's out there who are still tugging the rope

You might like Tauranga then. Quite beachy. The city is getting bigger as its our largest and most efficient port, so naturally a lot of industry comes from it
I'm in aucks, so I get a good mix of the city and everything that comes with it, but also have local beaches, bush walks and all that
North and south of Auckland are a bit more rural, but jobs can vary I guess
