I was working on a weird project today.. I have no idea if this is going to work or not🤣

What is it?

Have you ever had a rug where the bottom part is like old? And brittle and falling apart??

I got tired of constantly having to clean up all the mess from underneath it but I really like the little rug so I don't want to get rid of it. I would like to wash it though, but i'm afraid to put it in the machine because it'll fall apart and make a mess with the bottom like this

So I have this tiny bottle of anti fray fabric glue.. And these cotton squares. So I was going to put fabric glue on the back of this thing and then adhere the squares to it. So it will stop shedding all the time

Anyway, I started doing it in my upstairs bathroom because I figured I would do it on the counter. So the cat, I wouldn't be able to get to it. And I have the exhaust fan in there. The glue was really stinky though. It's supposed to be nontoxic, but I ended up using the whole little bottle and still, it wasn't enough for the whole thing. And it stank up the whole bathroom

So I ended up moving the whole thing out to the garage, because it has to cure for twenty four hours Anyway. And I had to order another bottle of glue.. So to be continued🤣

And silly me, I had just cleaned the bathroom before I brought the rug up there. So then I had all this powdery stuff. All over the place that I had to clean up all over again from the rug🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ i don't know what I was thinking🤣 i vacuumed it before I brought it upstairs.. But it continually sheds the backing

So I just ended up making another mess for myself to clean up🤦‍♀️

I did line the counter with something, but it ended up getting everywhere Anyway🤣

Sounds like it might be time to pitch the rug

I know, but it's the cat rug that Coco likes. And it works so well where I put it

I might not even need to cover the back with fabric. If this glue can keep it together

Maybe it will even give it some traction

I'll see what it looks like tomorrow.. And either I'll add more glue or I'll just end up covering it all with the fabric
