That’s actually very sad, malfunction of an aircraft is a result of human error. An aircraft cannot be airborne without overall inspection, so probably someone didn’t do his job correctly.
Wing flaps were not in takeoffs position, landing gear was not rolled up after takeoff adding to extra drag. It implies that aircraft wasn’t checked before take off. Someone just gave a casual approval. Or perhaps fuel was contaminated. Whatever it may be, it’s a human error. They didn’t deserve to die
They probably know it already, any pilot can tell you that after watching the footage
