I'm not well versed on history of that area
So maha khumbh was a huge festival
Its happening after 144yrs and devoted to Shiva

Advaita Vedanta is claimed to be founded by someone from my state called Adi Shankaracharya. Tho the upanishads were written much before that
Advaita is also not the only hindu philosophy tho there are many, like several sub within advaita, within dvaita etc
