China imports are mostly elastic products. It's convenient and most who enjoy being comfortable can't live without it but are they must have for survival? Absolutely not like food and energy are inelastic which usa can produce for itself.

We could theoretically produce almost everything we get from China but would be much more expensive, due to us having labor and environmental regulations. Some products would also take more time to onshore the supply chain.
I don’t think the Fed is doing (or not doing) stuff to spite trump, I think they are doing what they think the data tells them. They were also slow to actually start raising rates in the first place (which helped to fuel inflation)

I don't think enough people gave Joe Biden enough credit for sabotaging Kamala's campaign. It's obvious that in the end he was refusing to toe the partyline. And with the trade war, the US can make reshore manufacturing but it takes awhile and multiple administration to pull this off. I don't think anybody realize that Andrew Jackson's vision didn't complete until James K. Polk finished securing the California coasts. It's not something that can be finished in one administration and needs $.

I'm mostly in favor of what Trump is trying to do as well. The problem is alot of people in this country don't understand the concept of sacrifices and taking one for the team type of attitude. Many are entitled with me me me attitudes who would cry the second things get hard. I'm a big believer in hard times builds character in us. But I can't say many people feel the same way. It doesn't use to be like that before with our founding fathers time, who definitely understands making sacrifices.
Without elastic products, I would say we need to get used to having inconveniences but people are so soft nowadays that they see inconveniences as "real problems", first world problems as some would call them. Early pilgrims that arrived to the Americas had actual real problems like bad harvest and starvation and getting attack.
Ai will take over desk jobs and the people who will go do real work will have nice things. The people who won’t. Won’t. I don’t think it will take very long either. Massive inflation and big layoffs for high paying talking class jobs will level their savings fast. If they have any savings. They will learn to go to work quick.

We need people to have a type of mindset that will endure hardship and the willingness to strive to make things work. The priorities of the average Americans needs to change. Ever noticed how men are expected to be entertainers, funny clowns or people will complain we are boring? It didn't used to be like this before. This is what happens when people no longer have the right priorities any longer.
