Yea, in Appalachia, the region I’m from, Pentecostals are notorious for taking a verse from the Old Testament too literally and will use live venomous snakes for services. They believe that if you’re bit, then God made them do it because you’re sinful, and you’re not allowed to seek medical treatment for the bite.

I mean sure. But ultimately heresy grows in such fertile soil when they reject tradition and the historicity of the church. The evangelical movement is a particularly damaging force within Christendom. But yes, we can pray that God will show them the way and fill their hearts with the thirst for connection with the original churches
