“An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; a white has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over a white; except by righteousness” — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
The Quran was revealed in Arabic for several main reasons based on the text of the Quran itself. Arabic is a language that is fluent, clear and rich in meaning (20 times english), and has the power to convey messages effectively. in addition, Arabic is a language understood by the Arab people, who were the first recipients of revelation.
“And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Qur’ān, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it appropriate that (the Qur'ān) should be in a language other than Arabic while (the Messenger) is an Arab? Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.¹” (Fussilat 41:44)
all the answers are in the Quran
there are many translations of the Quran in many languages mark. but yeah it’d be better if we learn Arabic. with understanding Arabic, one can understand the meaning and nuances of the verses of the Quran directly, not just through translation. this allows for a deeper and more accurate understanding of Islamic teachings. it’s like english being the international language i guess. i’m still learning too, i’m not Arab nor english native speaker
no, i don’t believe i’m better than anyone else or more “righteous”.
actually, Islam teaches that righteousness is not tied to identity, but to actions and sincerity. The Quran clearly says in Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13): 'Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.' that applies to all human beings.
Muslims are reminded not to be arrogant about faith or deeds, because only Allāh knows what’s in the heart. so no, we’re not taught to believe we’re automatically more righteousthan others — we’re taught to strive for righteousness with humility and accountability.
